Ji Jingyuan, Deputy Director-General of the Non-destructive Testing Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering (known as the China Society for Non-Destructive Testing), attended the 76th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Non-destructive Testing from October 29 to November 3, 2017 in Nashville, Tennessee, at the invitation of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT). The American Society for Non-destructive Testing is one of the most influential societies in the world.

During the meeting, the American Society for Non-destructive Testing and the 21st ASNT SECTION (American Society Overseas Division) jointly established by the Society for Non-Destructive Testing since 2015. Some 2,130 experts and scholars from China, the United States, Germany, France, Egypt, India, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Chile, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Canada, Norway, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Israel, Brazil, Ukraine and other countries participated. Among them, the income of 120 academic reports on topics, the paper revenue of 43 articles. The content includes the development status of ASNT, the application of non-destructive testing, non-destructive testing training and examination and other topics of the workshop.

Represents the current international non-destructive testing level and development trends. There are 205 exhibitors from all over the world, including 7 exhibitors from China. Chinese exhibitors showed delegates the latest non-destructive testing equipment and systems, representing the highest level and direction of development in the current field of non-destructive testing.

Showing the latest progress of China's non-destructive testing equipment, due to the development of China's instrument research and development level and economic price, the participants also showed strong interest. The American Society for Non-destructive Testing also holds its annual regional divisional meetings. There are now 21 ASNT divisions in the United States, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Shanghai, China. The China Society for Non-destructive Testing and the American Society for Non-destructive Testing jointly established ASNT's 21st Division (Shanghai Division) in 2015, the third division of ASNT in Asia and the first in East Asia. As the main function of as ASNT division is to provide services for the vast number of ASNT members, so far china has about 350 people have obtained ASNT-TC-1A level 3 certificate, each level 3 person needs to obtain points, in order to be able to successfully extend the certificate, in order to enable these licensees to obtain points, ASNT practitioners for academic exchanges, training, experience sharing and instrument exhibition opportunities, the Shanghai division has done a lot of work, give full play to the main functions of the ASNT division, and achieved better results and the United States Non-destructive Testing Society recognition. Therefore, the Shanghai division was selected by the American Society for Non-destructive Testing in 2016 as the ASNT Division Bronze Award, as the second year of its establishment to receive this award, can fully reflect the shanghai division's existence value, as well as the enthusiasm of the participants. As the first branch in East Asia, our Shanghai, China division also played a good starting point for the future work of the relevant divisions in East Asia.

For the future of China's better for ASNT-related practitioners to provide a more convenient and good communication platform. During the meeting, the International Professional Conference of the American Society for Non-destructive Inspection was also held as scheduled, with representatives from china, the United States, Germany, France, Egypt, Japan, the United Kingdom, Russia, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Canada, Croatia, Thailand, Belgium, Israel, Brazil, The Ukrainian Society and other organizations. At the meeting, representatives of the societies of various countries exchanged views on the work of their respective societies and their planning arrangements, and Vice-Director-General Ji Jingyuan also participated in the International Professional Conference of the American Society for Non-destructive Testing on behalf of the Chinese Society of Non-destructive Testing, and also exchanged views on the work of the Chinese Society of Science and Development at the meeting. I also took this opportunity to promote the issue of the 40th anniversary of the Chinese Society and the QC Exhibition of the Shanghai Materials Research Institute next year, as the 17th Annual Meeting held in Shanghai in 2008 was a great success, and representatives of the national societies were also impressed. Knowing that the 40th anniversary of the Chinese Society will be held in Shanghai in 2018, we also expressed their willingness to come to attend. The meeting discussed more and was held for more than two hours.
